After working for a CPA firm in Mount Vernon, Flo learned of an opportunity to work at a “small printing company that had plans to grow and wanted to do their own typesetting.” That was King. She began working with us in June of 1966 as the Receptionist, which included answering the phone, bookkeeping, payroll and general office duties. Together with her sister Amy, who joined King in 1968, Flo established our first professional office system.

Soon Flo attended school in New Jersey to learn what was, at that time, the cutting edge of typesetting. She was trained to run our then brand-new, tickertape driven, state-of-the-art AM/CompSet 3500. Thanks to Flo, King was able to bring typesetting in-house; this was the beginning of King Graphics, our design and creative arm, which ushered in a major growth phase for King.

While King grew, the office staff increased, and so Flo’s duties changed. She is now a purchasing manager, and has added Office Manager and Human Resource Administrator to her portfolio.

Keeping active in her neighborhood, Flo is a member of several community and Church organizations. To relax she enjoys baseball, music, arts & crafts and crossword puzzles.
